Dr. Snezana Lawrence [Lecturer International Summer School, UK]
Snezana Lawrence is Senior Lecturer in Mathematics Education and historian of mathematics, interested in the cultural and intellectual heritage of mathematics and mathematics education at the Bath University (United Kingdom). She has been involved with a number of national and international initiatives to promote the use of the history of mathematics in mathematics education since 2002, and have contributed to the redesigning of the National Curriculum in Mathematics in 2013. Her research interests revolve around creativity and the cultural and historical contexts of mathematics and mathematics education. One of the things she is working on is the history of dimensionality and the image of Geometry in popular culture and art. She has recently published a number of a publications on this; in particular Snezana has recently engaged in research to seek a deeper understanding of the relationship between justified belief and mathematical practice as can be identified through historical examples. One of the outputs of this research is the book she co-edited with Mark McCartney 'Mathematicians and Their Gods' for the Oxford University Press.
