Professor Mauro Condé [Lecturer International Summer School, Brazil]
Mauro Condé is Associate Professor of History and Philosophy of Science at Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil). He received his PhD in Philosophy (2001). From 2009 to 2010, he was a visiting scholar at Boston University (USA). He is author of papers and books (and also editor) in history and philosophy of science and also in philosophy of language. His main academics interests and topics of research are in historiography of science (Fleck, Kuhn, Koyré, Popper, Vienna Circle etc.) and also in Wittgenstein’s philosophy of language. His recent book, “A Role for History”: the problem of historicity of science (forthcoming in July, 2015), analyzes the arising of the historical epistemology during the XX century. His specific interest is about the role of language in the theory of science and in the historical and sociological aspects of scientific development.
